Headaches/Migraines, Jaw Unwinding, Aches/Pains, Infants
Craniosacral Therapy or CST is an osteopathic technique developed by Dr William Sutherland in 1892. It works with the nervous system to relax the muscles and realign bones.
Craniosacral - Jaw Unwinding
We talk with it, chew with it, yell with it, smile with it, grimace with it, clench with it, bite off more than we can chew with it, kiss with it and the list goes on … Jaw unwinding is about giving this power area of the body a chance to reflect, unwind, release, come back to balance.
Craniosacral - Headaches / Migraines
Having headaches is so commonplace for some that they begin to think it is normal. Headaches and Migraines are a sign of imbalance, if you are having either on a regular basis, please seek treatment to release the strain in supporting structures and bring you back into balance.
Craniosacral - Back Pain
Back pain can be consuming and debilitating or at the very least annoying. Craniosacral Therapy bypasses the defensive muscular reaction that occurs in compromised backs, especially lower backs. It is gentle, effective and does not use force, so can be tolerated by those in extreme pain or pregnant women.
Craniosacral - Neck Pain
Neck pain can be a compensation for lower back weakness and both will be looked at as part of treatment. Our necks are an area we instinctively protect and people find Craniosacral Therapy is the kind of gentle but effective treatment which unlocks long-term strain and tightness, and bypasses the 'guarding' response to achieve freedom of movement and cessation of pain.
Craniosacral - Sleep Disturbances
Trouble getting to sleep or broken sleep prevents the body from going into the deep, restful stages of our sleep cycle. So at a physiological level our bodies are kept in a state of activity or readiness instead of repairing and rejuvenating at a cellular level. This is a downward spiral as we then wake tense or tired, we can help you get back to a good sleep pattern
Craniosacral - Eye Problems
Eye problems and visual disturbances start with poor eye care. There are exercises we can show you, as well as many things in treatment that can relieve pressure on the bones around the eye, on the eye muscles, on the eyeball itself. If you don't want to just give into to getting glasses look at a series of treatments to reverse the effects of age and strain.
Acupressure (Acupuncture without needles)
Acupressure is Acupuncture using finger pressure instead of needles. The great benefit is the direct feedback to the practitioner about which points are blocked and when they have released. Acupressure treats the same illnesses, disease or imbalances as treated by Acupuncture.
Massage - Lymphatic Drainage
A very light pressure technique which stimulates the lymph (body's waste products) to be expelled. Good for fluid build-up due to sedentary lifestyle, or as a general detoxification for the whole body.
Massage - Myofascial
Myofascial Treatment has the benefit of working deep into the layers of restriction around muscles, organs, bones, and other structures of the body which cannot be felt using other techniques.
Massage - Remedial
Remedial Massage as a treatment-based therapy is a systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments, tendons) to return the tissues to their natural, hydrated and flexible state.
Massage - Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a wonderful time of growth for you and your baby. And for you may mean pain and discomfort as your body changes or baby presses on new areas. We can help relieve aches and pains gently and safely and leave you feeling blissful.
Stretching & Strengthening
Stretching is more important than exercise. Demanding more from chronically contracted muscles is counterproductive.
We take your body through a series of active and passive stretches and show you ones that you can do as part of your day.
