Massage - Remedial

Remedial Massage as a treatment-based therapy is a systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments, tendons) to return the tissues to their natural, hydrated and flexible state.

It is an anatomically-based treatment which includes a postural assessment to determine where structural imbalances between your left and right sides, your upper and lower halves, and muscle function have led to tightness, soreness, or pain in your body.

Remedial Massage as a treatment is great for postural tensions & strains, chronic pain, recreational or work-related injuries - including lifting your children. Your therapist works all muscles & tissues of an area to alleviate your condition using a wholistic treatment plan.

Research into Remedial Massage Treatment

Muscles which develop adhesions through either misuse or disuse, are unable to stretch nor contract to full capacity, creating a cycle of reduced movement, reduced nutrition, reduced toxin removal, increased restriction & eventually pain and muscular weakness.

Studies show that adhesions reduce between 10-20% with Remedial Massage treatment, and can continue up to 50% reduction several days post-treatment.

Treatments work slowly into the muscle to restore function & flexibility. Remedial Massage is a solid treatment which uses pressure as required & tolerated by your body to heal.

When to have Remedial Massage Treatment?

For people who do repetitive movements during their workday (including parents with children) or sedentary jobs - it is ideal to have a treatment once a fortnight to relieve overused areas & restore muscle balance.

It is also a remedy post-injury, shortens healing time and improves the overall healing result, and a preventative to injury - as only tight, contracted muscles will strain, tear or become painful.
